The Step by step’ Association for Help of Disabled Children in Zamosc was established in 1990 and is a non-governmental organization uniting parents, caregivers and friends of children, adolescents and disabled adults . Association is unique in the region of south-eastern Poland and leads professional activities in the field of integrated rehabilitation, education and social support of children, adolescents and disabled adults with early brain damage. It includes comprehensive rehabilitation, education and care of about 2000 children (150 children in daily care system – primarily the Integrated Rehabilitation System, which is a modification of the method of Peto, 75 disabled people are covered by daily occupational therapy, and 1,800 people are in outpatient). The Centre leads pre-school education, primary and secondary school and high school and classes which prepare for work.
Aims: In Biatorbágy there is a lack of day-care facilities for children between 1 and 6, therefore we established our Babuka family day-care center in September 2007. Our aim is to help the mothers in our area who would like to return to work. One of our main objectives is to train, counsel and inform parents on various topics concerning parenting and educational issues.
Nonformal Education Encouraging Development – NEED is a complex and engaging group EVS project that will gather 10 volunteers from Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and Austria in order to promote to promote non-formal education as a means to personal and professional development and life-long learning process of both the target group and the volunteers
