De Zande is a juvenile detention center for boys and girls between 12 and 18 years old. The youngsters are placed here by the juvenile court, because of a living situation that is unbearable, or because they committed a crime. The boys and girls go through a pedagogical and didactic-educational program. We provide tailored guidance for every youngster who enters our facility. The result we have in mind is to facilitate the learning opportunities for the young people in our institutions and on the other hand for the volunteers. We want our young people to get the chance to learn from the volunteers by talking, exchanging experiences and by being able to see an example of taking part in the society in a positive way. The volunteer will be an example for the youngster in everyday activities.

Through our overseas volunteers, disabled people in our care homes are able to access their local community services and social opportunities more easily and regularly, thus improving their independence and quality of life. In their roles ESC volunteers are engaged in a wide range of activities both inside and outside the home. They may be required to accompany residents on activity weekends and short holidays, as well to provide support to those users who have regular work, education or volunteering commitments. Volunteers will offer their ideas on art and craft, gardening, cooking, exercise, social clubs, outings and other activities based on their skills and passions. While it is a lot of fun going out with residents, it is also very challenging as volunteers experience first hand the issues faced by people with disabilities everyday.

Based on our experience of working with youth and adults and our daily lifes, we noticed that the more and more Czechs are working hard, having full diaries, not even thinking about their own health and well-being. On the other hand, the Spanish thanks to their lifestyle, which is based on close family relationships, a healthier diet and rest (siesta) belong to the longest-living nations. Czechs are becoming aware of their stress-related problems and want to solve them. A slower Spanish lifestyle could be inspiring for the Czechs: with Spanish volunteers, we want to show Czechs how to live less under stress. It is ideal to show this healthier lifestyle to people as soon as possible, so we want to implement the project in ICM Kladno and Labyrinth, where the clientele consists mainly of children and youth. We realize that we work with stereotypical ideas, especially with regard to the nature of Spanish volunteers. It is, of course, possible that the current young Spanish generation (18-30) is completely different. In this case, the project can help to undermine people's stereotypical thinking, when Spain is no longer perceived only as a holiday destination, and when people coming from different cultures will be no longer perceived mainly through cultural stereotypes

The Mission Locale aims to receive, inform, direct and accompany all the young people of Creuse whom are authorised to work on French territory, aged between 16 to 25 years old, in their professional and social integration. A large number of them have a strong feeling of geographical and human isolation. Futhermore, unemployment, poverty, the weight of dependance to their family force them to be incapable of having positive perspectives. However, these young users breath and feel the need to escape, to broaden their professional and personal horizons, get to know and to open up to new people, without judgement. To receive a young volunteer at the Mission Locale permits an exchange with our users about cultural and convergence differences. Indeed, most of the users have never left the region, the department even, including for the holidays. Therefore, the reception of a young volunteer would permit them to really understand what could be a European experience.
