The Auslandsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt, an umbrella organisation with more than 30 member organisations, works in the areas of development policy, European and international exchanges and the integration of immigrants into German society. Every years AGSA organizes "Eurocamp", this is an international youth project with approx. 100 participants from over 30 countries. All the participants live together in order to share their different cultures to enriching everybody Besides, AGSA holds seminars and training courses to promote international youth work. The volunteer will take part in the project: “Living and Learning in the one-world-house”, that is a long term project and gives the opportunity to be involved in the planning of our youth projects and to explore diverse fields of activity.
The volunteers will work as an assistant to an voluntary employee with a concrete field of work and an own working place. It is possible to work in different fields, according to volunteer’s interests and the concrete working conditions. One of the volunteer’s most important areas of work will be support intercultural and education events in the oneworld house. Volunteers will be involved with the preparation and documentation for the activities,
Because we are an educational institution, that acts not only on local and regional level but on international level as well, we want to accommodate a volunteer, who conceptualises new projects together with us and who has the appropriate language ability. (german, english) By incorporating a volunteer on the one side we want to involve a competent contact person for the development of a european awareness in our work, on the other side we want to give the volunteer the possibility to experience our work and to bring in his/her own ideas in our projects.
Offener Kanal Magdeburg e. V. is a broadcaster aimed at young people. The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas. He / she will assist in the production of various programmes and films, particularly in the areas of script, camerawork and cutting. The volunteer will be involved in the recording of live events, such as concerts, theatres, debates, etc., and will also assist in the production of the intercultural youth magazine “Jugendstil” (“Youth Style)”. In addition, the volunteer will have the chance to produce his / her own film. Further areas of activity include general organisational tasks (such as technical work, archiving, programming, etc.) as well as assistance in the presentation of video workshops in schools and youth centers.
The Internationale Bund (“International Alliance”) consists of a registered society and many associations, and runs more than 700 facilities and branches in 300 locations. Every year it helps around 350,000 children, young people and adults to organise their professional and private lives. The Alliance works mainly with disadvantaged children and young people, particularly migrants and those from socially weak families. The volunteer will be active in several areas, such as the media project and the “Open Door Area.” The media project offers children and young people the chance to learn how to deal responsibly with computers and the internet. The volunteer will be involved in organising and carrying out computer, video and photography courses for participants with different levels of ability. In addition, he / she will work with and for young people while designing the website.
