The volunteer should take part in our daily work in the youth centre, they will work four/five days (32 hours) per week. At the beginning they will be introduced to different areas of work that we do (opening hours for the youngsters, project work, networking activities and some of administrative work). Once they get accustomed to all the tasks, the volunteer is welcome to bring up their own creative ideas. During the opening hours, the volunteer will spend time with our visitors, carry out different activities and organise projects with them. Volunteer is encouraged to attend 2 month language course located in Linz, Upper-Austria. Course and transportation expanses are fully covered by Youth Center.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer has a small, but cosy flat with all necessary things for living (bed, kitchen (with necessary utensils), bathroom with washing machine) which is located in the walking distance from the Youth Center. What is more, bike and year bus ticket are offered. Volunteer is responsible for their own meals. The whole team of the youth centre will support the volunteer with all the administrative tasks especially in the beginning of the project (bank account, registration, city tour etc.)
TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
This ESC project gives a great opportunity to learn a lot about youth and social work in Austria, as well as about organizing different events, workshops and other activities. It´s a wonderful chance to become more open-minded while working with young people from different cultural and social backgrounds. Depending on German proficiency level, the volunteer can take part in different advanced trainings concerning youth work.
Our young visitors come from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds, so the volunteer should be open-minded, outgoing and interested in the work with young people. They are encouraged to implement their own ideas for workshops or events with the team, that´s why it´s important to be a team player who is sociable, outgoing and reflective.
