Pomiechówek Commune has around 9000 inhabitants whereas Pomiechówek village itself around 3000. Culture Centre of Pomiechowek Commune, called PomPA, propagates and creates culture for and with the inhabitants of the commune. It organizes art, music and theatre classes and events for inhabitants and visitors of Pomiechowek Commune and work with people from 1 to 100 years old. The role of the volunteer is to add intercultural dimension to PomPA's activities as well as bring new ideas and initatives. Volunteer’s activities: organizing intercultural and creative activities at events for children, youth, adults and seniors organized by PomPA / organize and run intercultural and creative activities for the youngest children and youth / help with regular activities: technical support, assisting, taking pictures. The work is based a lot on the calendar of events which means there are very busy periods interchanged with calm ones. In the summer there is possibility to run a workcamp as a leader
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation: 2 volunteers will live in a detached house shared with its owners. They will stay in a flat on the first floor whereas the owners live on the ground floor. Their part of the house has its own kitchen and bathroom. / Food: the volunteer will receive about 100 EUR for food per month and will have to cook her-/himself. The volunteer should rather cook than eat in bars/restaurants. / Transport: the work place is within a walking distance from the house. / International travel: reimbursement up to 275 EUR
Training during the proyect
Language training: 30-hours of basic course of Polish language run by a teacher. /Task-related training (mission and working methods in the culture center) / Project-related training: group preparatory meeting incl. volunteering, ESC programme, intercultural training, non-formal education. / Training for workcamp leaders (if the volunteer will run a workcamp)
Interested in creative activities (art, music, theatre etc.) / friendly, making relationship with people easily / willing to work with people of different ages (from small children to seniors) / communicative English / independent and ready to have own ideas and initiative / reliable and diligent / motivated to work as a volunteer (no paid work nor studies are allowed during the project) / willing to learn / ready to dialogue and cooperate in case of conflict situations / only volunteers from ESC Programme countries can join and candidates from Greece have priority
